Senior Accounts Assistant Cambridge
We are looking for an experienced Senior Accounts Assistant for Commercially Managed Properties who would be based in Cambridge working within the Accounts department and alongside the Commercial team.
This experienced Commercial team is involved in some of the biggest commercial property deals in and around Cambridge with particular expertise in the life sciences and technology markets.

The Senior Accounts Assistant Package:
Basic Salary £35,000 - £40,000pa depending on experience

What will you be doing?
Reporting to the Finance Director and Commercial Director and overseeing all aspects of accounting for the Commercial properties we manage for our clients.
You will take the lead on managing the workload for the Commercial accounts team on a day to day basis and ensuring an excellent service is provided to our clients.
Main purpose of the Senior Accounts Assistant role:
Sales Ledger
Raising computerised rent demands, ad hoc invoicing, daily banking, computer postings and manual cash book entry, chasing rent arrears in writing and by telephone, negotiating payment plans with tenants or dealing with non-payment of rent.
Purchase Ledger
Checking nominal coding of invoices and posting to ledger, resolving disputes with suppliers, weekly payment runs where client funds allow.
Bank Reconciliations
Manual and computerised.
Client Accounting
Raise client statements monthly/quarterly, analysing and balancing, transferring funds to client, reporting in accordance with client requirements, VAT reporting combining manual and computerised reports.
Service Charge Accounting
Prepare 6 monthly annual service charge accounts, including extensive analysis to balance sheet level, accounting to client and tenants. Service Charge accounting experience not essential.
Property Administration
Input new tenancies, standing orders, monthly report for rent reviews & lease renewals, insurance schedules, renewals and queries, dealing with utility companies, agreeing new utility contracts, liaising with Property Manager regarding tenancy issues.
What will it take to be successful?
A number of years’ experience in an accountancy role, where you have gained a good understanding of all areas of accounts.
Self-motivated individual who enjoys working as part of a team
Enjoy a varied, busy and rewarding role, with the ability to organise the teams workload to meet multiple deadlines
Good IT skills and enthusiasm for embracing ever changing and advancing technology
