Senior Farm & Agricultural Machinery Valuer / Auctioneer Ely Cambridge
We are looking for an experienced Senior Farm & Agricultural Machinery Valuer / Auctioneer.
This role is full time at our clients 40 acre Saleground at Sutton, near Ely, Cambridgeshire.
We are looking for someone that enjoys being outside, travelling and is happy to stay away from home on occasions when an auction is taking place.

The Senior Machinery Valuer / Auctioneer Package:
Basic Salary £45,000 – £55,000pa depending on experience
Normal working hours will be 9-5:30pm Monday to Friday - hours will vary when auctions are being held, occasional weekend working and overnight stays.
23 days annual leave, plus bank holidays with entitlement increasing with length of service

Senior Farm & Agricultural Machinery Valuer / Auctioneerrole:
Valuing agricultural machinery and equipment and assisting with the on-site auctions.
Main Purpose / Scope of the role:
Valuation of all types of agricultural machinery for marketing purposes and RICS Red Book Valuations for various purposes
Cataloguing machinery and equipment for auction
Securing instructions for on-site farm machinery auctions
Involvement in monthly machinery auctions at the Cambridge Machinery Saleground
Assist with the running of on-site auctions throughout the UK, including cataloguing, pre sale set up, viewing day, sale day, post sale collection and enquiries
Assisting with online timed and live online auctions
Involvement with regular Vintage auctions at the Cambridge Machinery Saleground, Great Yorkshire Showground and throughout the UK.
The position is full time and includes weekend working and regular travel throughout the UK.
What will it take to be successful?
The successful candidate will have experience in valuing and consigning agricultural machinery to auction with the ability and desire to build on the success of the Cambridge Machinery Sale, the largest monthly auction of agricultural tractors and machinery in the world.
You must also have a minimum of 5 years’ experience in agriculture. RICS and CAAV qualifications would be a strong advantage.
Auctioneering experience would be an advantage but not essential
A good overall level of education but must have GCSE English & Maths grade C (or equivalent)
Educated to degree level or equivalent would be a strong advantage
Computer literate and working knowledge of Microsoft Office
Proven ability to network is essential
Strong organisational skills and an ability to multitask and meet a number of deadlines
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Self-motivated
Attention to detail and accuracy
Ability to maintain a high standard of customer care
Team player and able to work on own initiative
Enjoy the outside environment.
Use of own vehicle which is insured for business use.
